He had been admitted to the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences in February due to ill health. Despite the efforts of the doctors, he passed away at the hospital on Wednesday, as confirmed by his close ones.
Satyendra Das had served as the chief priest at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi for 34 years. He was born on May 20, 1945, in Sant Kabir Nagar district, Uttar Pradesh. Satyendra Das had a deep love for Ram from a young age. Under the influence of his guru Abhiram Das Ji, Satyendra Das took sanyas and left his home in 1958 to live in an ashram. He was a deeply religious person.
